Decorative Box making
Much of my recent work has included box making, boxes for jewellery, presentation, games, gifts and for anything else that might traditionally be housed into a box. Boxes hold a special fascination. Who can resist the temptation to lift the lid and peer inside?
I am also interested in the outside of boxes, hence the word 'decorative'. From the natural figure of the wood itself to the use of specially coloured veneers, and inlays, I aim to make boxes that will intrigue the recipient and tempt her or him to look inside!
As with my furniture making so in my decorative box making, I work to commission. This means that your finished box will be exactly made to your design with your choice of woods and interior materials and will therefore, of course, be unique! |

Large Presentation or Gift Box

Description: Large hinged, lidded box, veneered all around in a striking 'golden flame maple' burl. Laquer and beeswax finish producing a piano gloss surface. Lined in black ultrasuede. Featuring a marquetry butterfly escutcheon and state of the art solid brass quadrant hinges. Brass and gold plate key and lock.
Additional Comments: This kind of box can be commissioned in a veneer or solid wood and size of your choosing. |
